To exit valet mode
1. Turn the ignition switch to its “ON” position or start the engine.
2. Flick the switch back to its centre position. The LED will turn off to confirm that
the system is now in its normal operating mode.
Setting your own secret valet code
Since all Concept 50 systems have the same factory-set code, it is highly advisable
that you set your own valet code. You may choose any 1-, 2-, or 3-digit code that
does not have any zeros. You can also change the code whenever you want.
1. Write down the 1-to-3 digit code you wish to use (remember, no zeros in the code).
2. Turn your vehicle’s ignition switch to itsON position.
3. Enter your
current valet code (if setting a new code for the first time, enter the
factory-set code of “2” by tapping the momentary side of the switch twice, then
pressing the latched side).
4. When the LED turns on, immediately tap and release the momentary side of the
switch 6 times (after the first three taps, you will hear a single chirp confirmation
each time you tap the momentary side — in this case for a total of 3 chirps).
5. Immediately after the 3rd chirp, press the latched side, then enter your new code.
You’ll hear the same number of chirps as each digit of your code each time you
press the latched side. When done, return the switch to its centre position. Wait
until you hear 2 chirps and see the LED turn off, then turn the ignition off.
6. VERY IMPORTANT
:
You must test your new valet code. Wait at least 10
seconds, then turn on the ignition and re-enter your new code. The LED should
turn on. Return the switch to its centre position. NOTE: If the LED does not
illuminate, your new code was entered incorrectly. The system has
AUTOMATICALLY REVERTED TO THE PREVIOUS VALET CODE.
Example: Let’s say you want to change the code from its original single-digit
“2” code to a double-digit code of “31.” You would do the following:
Turn the ignition on, enter your current code, tap the momentary side of the
PlainView switch
6 times
, press the
latched
side, then enter the new code:
momentary, momentary, momentary, latched (3 chirps), momentary, latched (1
chirp), centre. Wait for the 2 chirp confirmation and the LED to turn off, then turn
the ignition off. Wait 10 seconds, turn the ignition on and test the new code.
Dual-sensor protection
Concept 50 has both a Glass Tampering Sensor and a Volumetric Radar Sensor. The
Glass Tampering Sensor detects attempts to break any of the vehicle’s windows.
For improved sensitivity in vans and other large vehicles, your installer can add a
second miniature microphone. The Volumetric Radar Sensor detects anyone leaning
into the passenger compartment, so it will protect your car even if it’s a convertible
or soft-top, or if you happen to leave the window(s) open. Unlike ultrasonic sensors,
the Volumetric Radar Sensor is impervious to wind and temperature variations.
